Museum Sophiahof is a place for the Moluccan-Indonesian community and everyone who’s interested too meet, talk about and remember the East Indies and it’s history.

The richness in culture, nature and people of Indonesia and the Moluccas gave us inspiration for the rich color palette. Patterns were made to represent the iconic Indonesian Batik and Ikat fabrik designs.

Typefaces from Indonesia and the Netherlands

The typefaces I used are designed in Jakarta and The Hague, strengthening the link between Indonesia and the Netherlands. Reitam is designed by Situjuh Nazara, Auto is designed by the Dutch typefoundry Underware.

Color scheme

The colorful nature and culture in Indonesia and the Moluccas are the inspiration for the color pallet.

Batik and Ikat

Batik and Ikat are traditional patterns that are used in art, fashion and architecture. They can be found troughout Indonesian and Moluccan culture. I used these patterns as inspiration for the patterns used in this identity.
